Icelandic architecture agency PK Arkitektar has built the house B25 in Iceland, in Reykjavík. The concept of this house is that a wall of the facade was made in volcanic red stones which hide the doorway in a hollow. This minimalist home is to discover in photos in the next part of the article.

Greek photographer Petros Koublis was commissioned by luxury hotel Vedema located in Santorini, in the village Megalochori, in the middle of 400 years old wineries built around volcanic stones. The hotel wanted him to take pictures of the exteriors to decorate the rooms’ walls and show the “real” face of the island. 100 prints have been achieved with interior designer Stamos Hondrodimos (Design Laboratorium).
After being dormant since 1972, volcano Calbuco located in Chile suddenly woke up, causing a spectacular volcanic eruption. Hopefully no victime to deplore, however some places have been forced to evacuate. The images below illustrate the sweep of this explosion, transforming the landscape into chaotic ashes field.

On May 18th, 1980, Mount St. Helens, in the Washington State, erupted after an earthquake and its still the biggest eruption in the United States’ history. These photographs from this time show the importance of the eruption and the breadth of damages.

Martin Heck, timelapse specialist, is behind a new creation in ultra high definition, showing us the volcano Calbuco eruption which occurred in Chile on April 22nd 2015, after 43 years of inactivity. The video reveals the amazing spectacle often offer by the Nature, with macro pictures of ash shadows, which its particular form are like sculptures.
Photographer Reuben Wu, about whom we have already written, traveled in the east of the Java Island, in Indonesia. He wanted to see a volcano, that by chemical reactions, emit rivers of molten sulphur that get the particularity to generate a kind of blue light. The result of his photographs offers an almost supernatural overview of this strange natural phenomenon.
On June, Switzerland-born photographer Elias Amari visited the Etna volcano in Sicilia for his series Enceladus (who is the name of the natural satellite of Saturne). This surreal place, located at 2900 meters high, presents some black rock and sulfur similar to a lunar landscape without any vegetation and with a switching weather.
